From the team at The Venue, Bury St Edmunds

The final pints have been pulled. On the 31st July 2016, Lucky Break and The Venue welcomed its patrons for the final time, hosting one last night of laughter and music. We cannot thank everybody enough for supporting us on this rollercoaster journey. Whether you helped build the place, played for us, or simply came in and had a few drinks with us, your help through the last year and a half has been immensely appreciated. From its inception during early 2015, The Venue quickly located its niche and secured its spot as the number one establishment for rock and cover bands. Lucky Break retained its classic charm as a local friendly bar for the folk of the town. As time went on, more and more people got to hear of us and the unique setting we provided.

Sadly, the building that hosted us was soon sold off with planning permission for blocks of flats. The clock began ticking ever faster until finally the final nail was driven into the coffin. Now the doors are locked and the planning permission granted, Bury will be missing a crucial part of its nightlife. No other place in town can quite replicate what we had here. This was truly a friendly bar, where it was much more about the music and memories than just selling beer. Bury has lost a fine establishment at the cost of yet more housing, but regardless of that, the music and memories will live on. The rockers will carry on rocking, and the metal way of life will only grow stronger. R O C K   O N !

We truly hope you have many fond memories of Lucky Break and The Venue. If you'd like to share them with us, please feel free to drop a post or picture on our Facebook page. Let the memories and the good times live on! Thank you again, for everything.
